Waxwing

Can't begin to tell you how many places I have been to in the hope of seeing one of these birds, so this weekend very determined and after a couple of trips out and 240 miles of driving we managed to see some.

In fact we managed to see something in the region of 80, never seen one until today now I have seen 80+.

Here are some shots I managed to get, again shot at ISO800 due to very poor light conditions.

Hope you like them..

All photos taken with Nikon D70 + Sigma 170-500mm @ ISO800.

Lovely shots, the sycamore tree is sprouting rather early.

wow...80 is a lot! I've never seen that many. I'm so glad you found some and got photos! They are wonderful birds and I always look forward to the few times they stop by my house. I have found them fairly willing to hang around posing, as long as there is something they are very intent on eating....like crab apples or their blossoms.
